Conservative candidate for Sleaford and North Hykeham Caroline Johnson has welcomed the news there are 190,000 more people in work in the East Midlands since 2010.
In Sleaford and North Hykeham the number of people claiming the key out of work benefits has fallen by 48% over the last six years.
Employment across the UK continues to run at a record high, with the unemployment rate falling to an 11-year low.
Figures show that wages are continuing to rise strongly and the proportion of women in work is at a joint record high. Over 70 per cent of the rise in employment since 2010 has been from full time work.
Dr Johnson who is the Conservative candidate in the Sleaford and North Hykeham by-election said;
“This is good news for Sleaford and North Hykeham giving more families the security of a regular pay packet.
“The number of people relying on the key out of work benefit has fallen by 48% under the Conservatives and growth is being fuelled by full-time professional jobs while wages are continuing to grow strongly.
“The measures we have taken have put our economy in a position of strength, and I will work tirelessly for the people of Sleaford and North Hykeham to ensure more people can benefit from these opportunities as the Conservatives build a country that works for everyone.”
