I had the pleasure of chairing the Westminster Health Forum this week which focussed on the next steps for improving child health including integrated service delivery, priorities for mental health, and tackling health inequalities.
As a consultant paediatrician and chair of the APPG for Children Who Need Palliative Care, I am passionate about how we can best support young patients in all aspects of their physical and mental health. I enjoyed the insightful discussion with a range of speakers and leaders in the child healthcare field, where we identified ways in how early prevention, integrated systems and encouraging collaboration between NHS Trusts can improve health outcomes for children.
I know that Government is committed to giving young people the best start in life and I will feed in our discussions to my Ministerial colleagues.
