The Chancellor has announced today that pensioners not in receipt of pension credit will have their Winter Fuel Payments scrapped from this year.
These payments provide support to elderly and vulnerable people so they can stay warm during the winter and those just above the pension credit threshold will not receive anything.
Being cold increases ill health among vulnerable people. I am concerned that the Chancellor was not able to provide me with an answer on the estimates she has made on what this will mean for the NHS.
