A pleasure to visit John, Dennis, Peter, Helen and the team at Brakes near Great Gonerby to see their national distribution centre employing 548 people, delivering food to pubs, restaurants, schools, care homes and hospitals across the country.
It was great to hear about Brakes' role as a local employer, and the different career routes they offer, including apprenticeships and their 'Changing Gears' training programme which supports colleagues to gain their HGV licence. John, who has worked at Brakes for 39 years and is now the General Manager, also explained how he is working with his team to develop partnerships with local schools.
