I recently had the pleasure of meeting Derek Laird, Chief Executive of Thames Ambulance Service Limited (TASL), to discuss the importance of the non-emergency transport in the local area.
During my visit, I met Dan Hutchinson, Control and Planning Manager, who showed me the workings of the control room and spoke to several trainees who were taking part in a training programme before they joined the TASL workforce.
TASL provides tailored transport to meet the needs of the patient. Many patients rely on the service provided by TASL to get to and from appointments, and this couldn’t be done without the help of approximately 100 volunteers who carry out many journeys everyday to ensure they get from A to B safely.
