I recently met with the Sleaford NFU and Lincolnshire Police for a further discussion on rural crime, an issue that I care passionately about. I updated everyone on my work to push for more funding for our local police, as well as recent inquiries by the EFRA Select Committee into rural matters.
I was glad to hear that reports of hare coursing have fallen in our county, but I am concerned about the rise in the theft of metals, particularly lead from church roofs and copper cable.
If you see any incidents, please do report them to the police. You can also sign up for the free Lincolnshire Alert service (https://www.lincolnshirealert.co.uk/) which enables two-way communication between our police and local residents.
