Today, we have finished the Tobacco and Vapes Bill Committee. I am delighted to see this Bill come forward and to see the Government has taken on board some of the amendments I made to the Conservative Government’s Bill which were being worked on before the General Election.
The Bill Committee has been scrutinising each clause of the Bill line-by-line over the last 4 weeks so there are a large amount of contributions to read through, however, you can find my remarks, amendments and supplementary information in the course of scrutinising this Bill on my Hansard page at: https://hansard.parliament.uk/search/MemberContributions?memberId=4592&…
I am grateful to the clerks, House of Commons staff and fellow Committee Members for their hard work in this Bill Committee. I am also grateful to the former Prime Minister who brought about the Bill under the previous Government to tackle teen vaping, protect our children’s health and create the first smoke free generation. I look forward to continuing to support the legislation as it continues its journey through Parliament
