It is great news that Lincolnshire has been announced as eligible to receive a slice of the Government's £302 million investment for family hubs.
These hubs give parents advice on how to take care of their child and make sure they are safe and healthy – providing services including parenting and breastfeeding support.
As a children's doctor, I am acutely aware that the 1,001 critical days from conception to the age of two are crucial for a child's development and life outcomes. I therefore welcome that funding will also be dedicated to rolling out bespoke parent-infant relationship and perinatal mental health support where early intervention is incredibly important.
