I am delighted that Lincolnshire County Council has approved the next steps to design and build the North Hykeham Relief Road and has appointed Balfour Beatty as the official contractors.
This is another major landmark in the process and I know that this decision will be welcome for many of my constituents who currently suffer from severe traffic jams in North Hykeham. The bypass will also make a big difference to everyone who travels in Lincolnshire by creating a complete ring road around the city of Lincoln.
This project has been one of my key priorities since I was first elected and I was very pleased to have secured investment of £110 million from the Government in 2019 for the building of this key piece of infrastructure. I continue to be committed to ensuring this project can happen as soon possible.
