I wrote to Royal Mail earlier this month to push them to replace the post box in the village of Frieston. The original post box on Hough Road was removed when the wall containing it collapsed, but Royal Mail have not installed a new one, despite the local Parish Council’s efforts and a petition signed by local residents.
Having a local post box is vital, particularly in rural areas like ours, and residents and businesses in the village should not have to be without one. I was very disappointed that Royal Mail had not acted swiftly to rectify this, and that they had ignored local requests for a new box.
I am delighted that Royal Mail have now promised a new post box for the village!
