Dr Caroline Johnson has welcomed today’s Autumn Statement that backs her 5-point plan for Sleaford and North Hykeham. The Chancellor’s plan will support businesses across Lincolnshire and help ordinary working families in Sleaford and North Hykeham.
The Autumn Statement sets how the Chancellor is putting ordinary working families first by:
- Investing £1.1 billion more in local transport networks.
- Investing £1 billion in a broadband boost for homes and businesses.
- Backing Britain’s businesses and supporting rural businesses.
- Introducing a new £2.3 billion Housing Infrastructure Fund.
- Helping people keep more of what they earn.
- Giving 1.3 million workers a pay rise worth over £500 a year to a full-time worker.
- Freezing fuel duty for the seventh year running meaning that local families save £130 a year filling up the average car.
Dr Caroline Johnson welcomes support for ordinary working families, and the backing of her 5-point plan to tackle the issues that matter to local people:
“Living locally, as the wife of a small businessman, I understand how slow broadband can limit a businesses’ growth. That’s why I’ve been campaigning on it and have already been speaking with the Broadband Minister, Matt Hancock, about the issues we face locally. I welcome today’s announcement by the Chancellor that will see £1 billion invested in Broadband.
“Communities across Sleaford and North Hykeham need better roads and infrastructure to cope with new housing. That’s why I’ve been campaigning on it. So I’m pleased that the Chancellor has announced over £1 billion to invest in local transport across the country and a new £2 billion Housing Infrastructure Fund.
“This is an Autumn Statement that delivers for ordinary working families. If I am elected, then I’ll work with Conservative MPs across Lincolnshire to make sure that we get a fair share locally that delivers improvements for communities across Sleaford and North Hykeham.”
