Conservative candidate for Sleaford and North Hykeham, Dr Caroline Johnson, took the Secretary of State for International Trade, Dr Liam Fox, to visit construction business Lindum Group.
The group is based at the North Hykeham Business Park and employs over 500 people locally with offices also in Peterborough and York.
Both Dr Johnson and Dr Fox met with Lindum Chairman, David Chambers, and enjoyed a tour of the facilities as well as meeting other businessmen based at the thriving business park.
As part of her plan to deliver a brighter future for Sleaford and North Hykeham, Dr Johnson has pledged to help shops and businesses in the constituency and will run a local business forum with stakeholders to ensure the economy thrives and give local people more good jobs.
Dr Caroline Johnson said: “I was delighted to take Dr Liam Fox to visit the Lindum Group and meet businessmen based at North Hykeham Business Park.
“I'm married to a local farmer so know first-hand the importance of having good and successful businesses based in our communities for the economy and employment.
“If elected Member of Parliament, I’ll run a local business forum, bringing together employers, councils and community groups to ensure our local economy thrives and gives people in the area more good jobs.”
International Trade Secretary, Dr Liam Fox, said: “I enjoyed joining Caroline to talk to thriving businesses in Lincolnshire and discuss how Government can help them succeed both on a national and international stage.
“I was also very impressed by Caroline who will be a great local champion for Sleaford and North Hykeham and will bang the drum for businesses and trade if elected Member of Parliament.”
