I went to RAF Cranwell to meet the engineering team at Affinity Flying Training Services and to learn more about their work.
Affinity is a responsible for delivering the fixed-wing training aircraft for the UK MOD’s Military Flying Training System programme (MFTS). They offer various training opportunities, including apprenticeships and professional courses. Affinity has close ties with the Jon Egging Trust and is supporting local youngsters on their career journeys. They're also part of The EBP Lincoln Imp Trail taking place this summer, and they're supporting a local Sleaford Primary school, William Alvey, who are designing an aircraft themed Imp.
It's great to have this resource in the constituency, helping to pave the way for future aircrews to progress successfully through their training and careers. I’d like to thank Iain Chalmers, the Managing Director, and his team for taking the time to show me how they operate and I look forward to seeing Affinity continue to support local people to fulfil their ambitions.
