Following on from my letter to and meetings with the Secretary of State regarding this issue I am really pleased that the government has listened to the concerns of farmers and the sugar industry and has allowed a derogation to enable the use of a neonicotinoid seed treatment this year. A relief for farmers after a terrible harvest this year with most crops locally badly affected by virus yellows.
