I recently visited Branston Ltd, and met with their Innovations Director, Vidyanath Gururajan.
Branston supply potatoes to many familiar places, like Tesco, and employ around 880 people over their three sites. I was very interested to hear about their work to trial emerging technologies and develop new and innovative potato varieties, as well as their Potato Champions scheme that teaches local school pupils more about where their food comes from.
They are an excellent example of a Lincolnshire success story, and show how a great local business can grow and prosper.
