I recently met with constituents and a family of three Ukrainian refugees who they are hosting through the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
I was incredibly moved by the details the Ukrainian guests spoke about with regards to their hometown of Mariupol and how their home, school and place of work have been destroyed. In the short time the Ukrainian guests have spent in the UK, I was glad to hear that they have integrated well into life in my constituency given the circumstances.
The generosity of the local family and many others across the country who have opened their homes and hearts to help those suffering in Ukraine through the scheme is incredibly heart-warming. I wish them all the best and look forward to receiving updates in the coming months.
