I visited Washingborough and Heighington to meet with Cllr Lindsey Cawrey and Cllr Ian Carrington and see areas in the villages affected by flooding.
We visited some of those worst affected by Storm Babet. We listened to their experiences and heard their concerns about their homes being particularly impacted by the floods. We also discussed the difficulties for access routes in and out of the villages, with roads and footpaths closing due to large levels of surface water.
I will be working closely with Cllr Cawrey and Cllr Carrington on this matter and have offered my support in raising residents' concerns with the Environment Agency and relevant authorities. I know this remains a particularly distressing time for many affected, and I am grateful to local councillors and the relevant authorities for the support they are providing to residents.
