I met with representatives from the Internal Drainage Board at the Digby Pumping Station following the recent floods.
IDBs provide a critical service locally, and they gave me further insight into their views on what can be done to work together to ensure flood risks are mitigated as much as possible in the future.
In particular, we discussed the importance of joined-up thinking with the IDBs, the Environment Agency and other tiers of local and national government. Collaboration on this matter is vital to ensure that water levels are managed in our area and works are undertaken to reduce flood risk to people, land and properties.
