A Riding for the Disabled Centre based in the beautiful countryside near Grantham.
Do you have a child who would like to come along and spend some time with our ponies? Perhaps they would like to learn to ride and take part in some of our fun activities such as our countryside challenge, our field walks or maybe they would prefer to have a go on our mechanical horse riding simulator, Sully.
We are a Riding for the Disabled Centre based at Hough on the Hill near Grantham offering disabled children a range of riding and equine therapy activities in a safe and supportive rural setting. Children can spend time with our ponies learning to ride for pleasure or a challenge or sit on our mechanical horse, Sully, which is a great way for a child to begin their riding journey. He will enable them to learn the basics of riding before they graduate to one of our four ponies.
If riding is not suitable then we offer the chance for a child to just spend time with our ponies learning to groom them or lead them around our outdoor arena as part of what we call our “listening horse” experience.
We have four ponies who are much loved by our riders. Rio, a Dales pony with an amazingly long mane and tail. He has a heart of gold. Fudge is our elder statesman and is a perfect ride for a new rider. Bob and Mu are two ponies used for our more experienced riders. Together they offer a wealth of exciting pony based activities a disabled child can take part in.
