Our rural and farming communities are the backbone of our local economy, and I will continue to highlight the importance of our local farms and Lincolnshire's role as producers of much of the nation's food. Caring for our environment is also incredibly important, whether that is tackling litter, or protecting the beauty of our local landscapes. I always enjoy speaking with farmers and regularly highlight their views on sustainable food production and environmental protections in Parliament.

The King's Speech and Farmers

The King's Speech was delivered in Parliament this week where the new Government has set out its priorities for legislation to go before the House. As an MP representing a rural constituency, I am disappointed that there is nothing for British farmers and food producers within the speech.

Farming Recovery Fund Open

At the NFU conference today, the PM and Environment Secretary have announced a range of measures to boost productivity and resilience in the farming sector, including the largest ever grant offer for farmers in the coming financial year, expected to total £427 million. This invests £220 million in
